McCarthy finally was able to get the votes to become speaker this morning, after a midnight 15th vote. Now it’s time to move on and we’ll see that with all the caving and concessions McCarthy made to the 21 holdouts or MAGA house members if he has become or will be just a puppet speaker to that faction of the house. As near as I can find out there are at least 90 Republican house members that were elected that were endorsed by Trump, at least 80 house Republicans belonging to the MAGA Republican caucus which includes the 55 of the Freedom Caucus. These numbers may be conservative.

Which simply means there’s more non-MAGA republican house members than MAGA members by a very small number. But with all the concessions and caving McCarthy did to become speaker, these 90 plus Trump endorsed/MAGA types in my opinion will have more power over the other 120-130 non Trump endorsed/non-MAGA republican house members. Out of this later 120-130 non-MAGA, I have no idea how many sympathize with the MAGA faction. Time will tell.

It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
