Did'ya see ol' Joe's SOTU address? No? Here's a recap:

Apparently Alito, Gorsuch, and Thomas chose to make themselves scarce. Oh well...no one will missed them anyway. smile

Joe was kind to Barely Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Joe is so polite. Joe called Chuck Schumer Minority Leader. (An impeachable act! laugh ) Wonder if Barely Speaker Kevin will give Joe some handclaps? (Are you new here? crazy )

Joe: "We're all America, look how we work together."

Barely Speaker Kevin DID clap for manufacturing jobs and "lowest unemployment since 1969" but like...but he held his hands low so you can't quite see he was clapping.

Joe knows everyone wants infrastructure for their districts - even if their Rep voted against it. Joe has promised to be a president "for all Americans," and he will "see us at the groundbreaking!" smile

Joe promises we don't have to worry about Big Pharma, he promises they will be fine, even though he murdered them with free insulin. That's so Joe!

Joe mentions that the Repubs want to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, and they all applaud, and he just laughs in their faces, quote: "That's okay, as my high school football coach used to say, good luck in your senior year!" (Joe is the coolest cool )

Joe says we'll need oil for at least another decade and there's a hearty roar of laughter, and then he got boo'd for noting that Trump created a big old deficit. At some point Joe Manchin was unsure to clap, not to? He looked very unsure and frowny, then he clapped for rich people to pay taxes. So that is bipartisan, between Democrats and Joe Manchin Party.

Ol' Joe got boo'd again for noting that some Republicans want Social Security to "sunset." How very dare he! Only today, the former vice president of the United States said he wants to privatize it.

MGT and the Boebs shout that ol Joe is a lair.

Joe says COVID was very bad, deaths are down 90 percent, we opened the country back up. At least Joe is not actively telling people not to get the vaccine or verbally beating up people for wearing masks.

The End

Talking about making America a 3rd rate or banana republic .... look no further than how Republicans act during State of the Union

ignorance is the enemy
without equality there is no liberty
America can survive bad policy, but not destruction of our Democratic institutions

GOP Rep. James Comer's House Oversight Committee held a hearing today about the Biden campaign's apparently unreasonable requests that Twitter take down pictures of Hunter Biden's peen in the run-up to the 2020 election.

Strangely, though, former Twitter execs have testified that actually thin-skinned Donald Trump was the one who called Twitter whining and begging for tweets that hurt his feelings to be taken down. Specifically, there was that time Chrissy Teigen called him a PAB ("pussy ass bitch.") because the tweet was mean.

So there's your TWITTER FILES.

Rep Gerry Connelly was a boss and pointed out to everyone that Donald Trump did exactly everything to Twitter that the Republicans are accusing ol' Joe of doing - which Joe never did any of that.

Here's the thing...Republicans think everyone else does the same despicable things that they do.

Probably the best part of ol' Joe's STOU speech...when he got Republicans to publicly support Social Security and Medicaid and to take it off of the table in the debt limit talks.

Twitter

Notice not one Republican stood or clapped because of the dishonest liars that they are. I've always said that a Rwinger will piss on your leg and tell you that it's raining. You just saw it with your own eyes.

Meanwhile...

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) was ridiculed for his response during the State of the Union Address in which he appeared aghast at the implication that he supports cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

This is the guy who said:

Quote
"to phase out Social Security, to pull it up from the roots and get rid of it.”

The lady...gentleman doth protest too much, methinks.

smile

Me, too. I haven't discerned the difference and I am usually pretty good with these puzzles. Wait... it is because the howler monkey exists in nature?

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich
