I admit that I have mixed feelings about Biden being elected to another term, even as I think it is likely. Seriously, I do.

I was inspired by Nancy Pelosi convincing her deputies to retire at the same time, and turning the reins over to the next generation. I think Biden is likely to do that as well, but only after reelection. There is a huge advantage to incumbency, and the Republicans are daily providing a contrast between his getting things done and their wallowing in the gutter.

He is becoming frailer, it is apparent. But, he still has the wherewithal to hire well, push in the right direction, and negotiate for results. Who else can claim those qualities that is waiting in the wings?

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich
