It's not like he can just go back to being Friendly Joe, not the way Obama was able to go back to just being Barack.
For instance, Joe Biden is a motorhead but he will NEVER EVER be allowed to just hop in his dark green Corvette and go for a cruise, something he used to enjoy doing very much.



So you almost can't blame him for being resigned to the idea that he may very well "die at his desk" the way FDR did.
