Yes, Jimmy was president in a completely different political era than today. The animosity and hatred from one party toward the other wasn’t there back then. The huge ideological divide wasn’t there either. We didn’t have the polarization we have today. Carter in a way is the forgotten president. The threat assessment has to be very low against Jimmy. I think the threat assessment against Bill Clinton and G.W. Bush is probably fairly low also. But there’s always a wacko out there. It has to be very high for Trump and Biden mainly because they’re very active politically. The threat assessment against Obama I’d say has receded quite a bit since he’s stayed out of the limelight, been really quiet.

Jimmy may be unique as he could show up at a Waffle House without many paying attentions to him. Especially in Plains. Carter for a long time has been known much more for his work for Habitat for Humanity than being an ex-president. Much like Joe DiMaggio was known more as Mr. Coffee later in life than for his baseball feats.

It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
