...Republicans are claiming any prosecution of a political figure (Trump in particular) is nothing more than weaponization of the judicial system by the other political party and therefore illegitimate. Republicans think prosecuting Republicans for breaking the law is weaponization of the judicial system.

It will be interesting to see how many other Republicans get included if Georgia , New York, or Jack Smith go for a RICO prosecution. Several of them are up to their necks in Trump-crimes. Many many more are part of the larger conspiracy in supportive roles. RICO is all about supporters and corrupt cover-ups, not just gang members who did the felony-bad stuff. All of the crime-fraud exceptions do not bode well for Trump's lawyers staying out of jail. They would have to convince juries they were duped by Trump into committing crimes, but since Trump is a moron what does that say about them?
Over 1000 insurrectionist supporters already arrested, many pleading guilty, and Department of Justice batting 1000 on cases that go to trial. They claim 1000-2000 more arrests pending.
Educating anyone benefits everyone.
