Every night there are reports of college kids marching and rioting in favor of the Palestinians. Apparently this also means that they are marching against the Jews. I find it to be very strange. First, the people of Israel are constantly marching in favor of the Palestinians and against Netanyahu who is slaughtering the Palestinians. Basically, and apparently, the majority of Jews, in Israel are also marching in favor of the Palestinians. The difference is that in American they are marching against the Jews. These are the same Jews that are marching for the same reasons the college students are marching for.
I listen to the reports, every night and along with covering the Marches they also report that the Jews, in America are not safe because, apparently (again) the Americans are also marching against the Jews in America! At the same time they are also reporting on the folks in charge of the schools who are constantly talking about hatred of the Jews by their own students. I can go on and on about this but, basically, something here is very, very wrong. I would really like to know how such happens in this country and who is against the very Jews that are marching for the same reasons the Jews are marching in Israel. I have not heard one thing about this confusion. Who and why are the Americans who are marching for the Palestinians also marching against the same Jews that are marching for the same reasons.
There is something that is very wrong about this one and I have yet to hear one reporter report the problem. I also don't hear one person in charge of the schools this is happening mention this. None of it makes any sense. These kids are in COLLEGE! They should not be anti Jew because the Jews are not responsible for the doings of a lunatic murderous politician in Israel.
Just thought I would ask the question because somebody must know just what, exactly, is actually going on.

First, the people of Israel are constantly marching in favor of the Palestinians and against Netanyahu who is slaughtering the Palestinians. Not exactly. The majority of Israelis want Israel to defend itself but not by mass indiscriminate slaughter, and they blame Bibi for what appears to be a clear cut case of "Let It Happen Accidentally On Purpose" and they want him gone ASAP. And the disconnect between the ocean is due to heavy funding and organization from groups who work for both HAMAS and Iran, with the blessings of The Kremlin, thus over here it's all "Genocide Joe" and "Democrats R Funding Genocide!". Three guesses who is paying the freight to send that message, first two don't count. And oh, lookie...the plan is working PERFECTLY ! Of course Trump does - he thinks one of his great friends is Mr. Putin and he proves that every time he can. His current dislike of America helping the Ukraine is one of his things. Its kinda interesting. Our current Congress House has several members actually speaking Russian crap and, I guess, congress thinks that's just dandy.

On Saturday night there was a Saturday Night show which, amongst other things kinda dealt with students fighting for, and apparently, for Palestinians and, oddly, against Palestinians (not sure exactly). Anyway, part of their skit was about parents being concerned about what was going to happen to students who get arrested, do not graduate, and are thrown out of the schools that they had invested 4 years of their lives and money spent. It was funny. It was also a fact and there are, now, literally thousands of students which have been arrested, thrown out of school, and have basically destroyed their own lives.
One can only wonder what is going to happen next in this disaster. Its a disaster for the students, its a disaster for the schools, and it is certainly a disaster for parents who worked hard to support the students. Then there are the debts to the country and also the interests involved which the students owe and for which most of them will not have jobs that will produce enough money to pay the debts which will expand hugely due to the interest involved. Again, apparently I am talking about THOUSANDS of idiots! I also believe that the students didn't think before they did what they did. I also suspect that most do not come from wealthy families. The schools are going to be put into serious pressure about what they did, or didn't, do. There are going to be parents who will be REALLY angry, etc. I suspect there will also be other things happening over this one as well and not now noted.
I am writing this so that others might have something to say about this one. It happened, its gonna be a real mess, and I just wonder what others have to say about this one.
Forgot one thing. Apparently Netanyahu, once he leaves his job, gets to goto jail for something (shades of Trump). I have been following him for a very long time. He, and those who support him, firmly believe that the Palestinians have absolutely no rights to any land there and should go or die. This is no secret.............
Ooops - one last: Netanyahu was told about the attack that they had against them but did absolutely nothing about it. Basically, he knew what was going to happen and let it happen.
Just a thought................

What I don't get is that conservatives are labeling the pro-Palestinian movement as "anti-Semitic." The Palestinians are Semitic people. How can supporting Palestinians be "anti-Semitic?”
What conservatives fail to articulate is that the pro-Palestinian movement is anti-Zionist. Zionists are conservative Israelis who believe they should own all of Israel and ignore the 1948 two-state solution.
Being anti-Zionist and anti-Israeli government for their policies is not anti-Semitic.

The problem really is that Netanyahu (who was actually the one to explain how the two could live together happily whilst both would also have their own government). It never really happened. Instead reality stepped in and the Palestinians have played the role of Goats for some of the meaner Israelis since 1948. It would be fairly easy to list the problems that the Palestinians have had to live with, you know, little stuff like an Israeli liking where the Palestinian lives and throws out the Palestinians and takes it away from them, or sending groups of Israeli teenagers into Palestinean groups to kill a couple for the heck of it (its a long, long, list of truly bad stuff).
Anyway, that was the system that they agreed on because the Israelis didn't agree with the two state solution and the system they got was good for the Israelis and not for the Palestinians. Biden, right now, is trying pretty hard to create a new nation for the Palestineans. One can only wonder if he can pull it off but he is trying!

It was funny. It was also a fact and there are, now, literally thousands of students which have been arrested, thrown out of school, and have basically destroyed their own lives. Actually, their lives were ruined for them. I think a number of these schools have been biased and heavy-handed. That is particularly true in some instances where Jewish agitators are not arrested/trespassed, but pro-Palestinian protesters are. It kinda mirrors what is actually going on in the Occupied Territories. Having said that, I also recognize that in many situations some of the participants are not from the schools at all, but outside agitators. That exists on both sides. Any discussion of Israel/Palestine virtually anywhere tends to devolve into the worst common denominator. Any criticism of Israel, no matter how well-founded, is labeled "antisemitism", any support for Palestinians tends to be described as support for Hamas, no matter how much one distinguishes the two, and any defense of Israel against HAMAS is deemed support for genocide. And, of course, Congresscritters on both sides of the aisle tend toward the support of Israel, as that is where the contributions to their campaigns come from. Hence, Naziyahoo Netanyahu being invited to speak at a joint session of Congress despite his outstanding warrant and criminal status. I am writing this so that others might have something to say about this one. It happened, its gonna be a real mess, and I just wonder what others have to say about this one. I happen to agree with you that the ramifications of this situation have not yet hit home with many - students, parents and school administrations. I don't envy the administrators, either, because they have faculty advocating both sides of the issue, and Congresscritters actively excoriating them for any perceived misstep. The horrendous situation in Palestine is corrupting the politics here in the United States, as well. Particularly among the Christo-fascist set, to which the current Speaker belongs. This is the root of most of the problems. I will probably post some diatribe about how awful the "Partition plan" of 1947 was, and why it was bound to fail, being so abysmally constructed. In fact, I definitely will. It may be a separate thread, though, to keep this one on topic. Ooops - one last: Netanyahu was told about the attack that they had against them but did absolutely nothing about it. Basically, he knew what was going to happen and let it happen.
Just a thought................ Netanyahu is a war criminal of the highest order. He is a poorly-disguised crypto-fascist, unlike Trump, who is just a plain old fascist. Netanyahu deliberately propped up HAMAS to keep the factions in conflict with each other as a cynical ploy to undermine a two-state solution. He, like much of the military apparatus, is supremely arrogant and simply could not fathom that the denigrated enemy could actually pull off a sophisticated attack. The overkill in Gaza is entirely intentional. It is definitionally genocidal. The government of Israel is in thrall to the worst elements of Israeli society - much like MAGA represents in the United States. Until they (and we) can be honest about how corrosive that is to the country, we will not be able to extirpate them from our midsts.

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

The Israeli slaughter of the Palestinian people is beyond the pale. I'm glad the E.U. is stepping up and calling for a two-state solution, even if the U.S. won't.
