The win went under most Americans radar. Only 40% of Americans even knew a government shutdown was in the offering. 10% heard a lot, 30% some, while 60% have heard little to nothing about it. Then the blame game – “The way Americans assign blame for a potential government shutdown is highly partisan, as 63 percent of Democrats would blame Republicans in Congress and 62 percent of Republicans would blame Biden and Democrats. Independents are divided, with 21 percent who would blame Biden and Democrats, 18 percent who would blame Republicans in Congress, and 36 percent who would blame both equally.” https://navigatorresearch.org/two-in-five-are-hearing-about-a-government-shutdown/Even when shutdowns occur, going by past government shutdowns, within 2 weeks to a month most Americans forget it even happened. Most Americans have very short memories. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...epublicans-not-cost-long-term-rcna184919
It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
