When it comes to the national debt, neither party gives an owl’s hoot about it. The difference is most democrats are honest about it admitting they don’t care as they continually spend and spend. The republicans are all rhetoric about doing something about it while continually spending and spending. Nothing but hot air.
The main problem are the people. They want all their benefits from the government without having to pay for them. They don’t want their taxes raised and they don’t want a cut in spending or decreased benefits. The American people are more than willing to pass on to their kids, grand kids, great grand kids and those unborn the responsibility of paying for all the benefits, programs, etc. we receive today. Every elected official knows that raising taxes and or cutting spending, programs, benefits would be a certain election loser. Hence, nothing will ever be done about the national debt until its too late and then it won’t matter.
