I think that what needs to be realized was back in 2020, Biden was a safe bet to bet Trump. He wasn’t that many democrats first choice. Most democrats put their first choice on hold as their number one priority was defeating Trump, in fact it was their only priority. Biden had the reputation of being a moderate democrat which was attractive to independents. A group which Biden won 54-41 over Trump. Perhaps Biden’s problem was that he wasn’t the type to seek the limelight. He didn’t toot his own horn so to speak like Trump had done and is doing. He didn’t connect with the people like Obama, Bill Clinton or Reagan did. Biden didn’t have their charisma. He didn’t let the people; the voters know what he was doing to improve their lives or fixing the problems of this nation. No other democrat stepped in to do that either. FYI, independents didn’t totally desert the democrats in 2024, Harris won them 49-46 over Trump. Which normally should have made Harris the winner. It was previous democratic voters that deserted Harris as I pointed out before. I’m still researching in trying to find out why.
The democrats need a leader to step up. It won’t be Schumer who as senate minority leaders, is the highest-ranking democrat in government. Way too many democrats are mad at him. Someone needs to stand up and take the lead, to become the leader. Pelosi might have been that person, but she is no longer Speaker and is too old as is Sanders, Warren and just about all who are well known. The democrats need fresh blood, someone energetic, who speaks their mind, who can unite a fractured party along with getting the democratic message out in a coherent manner to the public. Just being against Trump isn’t enough as the 2024 election proved. Whoever becomes the leader needs to be able to articulate what the democrats stand for and what they’ll do for this country. That was Harris’s problem, she didn’t give the voters a reason to vote for her, she did give them a ton of reasons to vote against Trump. But many voters were looking for a reason to vote for someone, not just against. Perhaps that might be one reason so many previous democratic voters stayed home. More on that later.
