As far as I can tell everybody here is, basically more happier than they have been for a while. The last elections of last night might make folks even feel better overall. My own thought is that the jackass from southern Africa Elon Musk, who spent multiple millions trying to buy an election flat out failed. I suspect that he failed because people were, basically, sick and tired of him and just wanted him gone. This, all in its own, is interesting. I wonder if Mr. Trump wants somebody who is not liked by virtually anybody around (we will see). Trump is working hard but the Republican members of congress are starting to figure out that if they want to keep their jobs they gotta do some things which scared the hell out of them not to long ago or they will not have a job to go back to. I haven't really seen what the math is show these days but, given what's going on it would seem that Trump is beginning to lose backers here and there as well. I do know that most current elections are showing that Mr. Trump is sliding in the right direction!.
I know, Trump is moving around with speed and disaster left behind. As time goes on I suspect he will begin to lose more. I am not sure the Mr. Trump is capable of even believing that might be possible. Once somebody starts to believe their own magnificence their minds, I suspect, kinda slip a little. Same thing with loon Elon. He may be great when it comes to money but with people I'm becoming convinced he is losing that war. My fond hope is that Trump has the same problems.
Most of us continue to hope. I hope I can for a long time. I suspect most are in the same boat. Most of us are there. Some lose hope for a bit but one can tell and its upsetting. Trump isn't winning everything yet. The Dems seem to more and more getting into it with a will. My only wish is that they would stop asking for money ALL THE TIME! What I really wish is that somebody in that party can stand up are start to lead. The man who gave the long talk yesterday is really trying. Anyway, they are coming out in force and every day there seems to be bigger and bigger crowds.
I wish us all that our hope is not misplaced.

I’m with you jgw. Perhaps Cory Booker is beginning to emerge as that leader. I’m impressed with him after his 25-hour speech or filibuster in the senate railing against both Trump and Musk. Math wise, it’s way too early to read much into numbers this far out from the midterms. The generic congressional ballot, the democrats have a slight edge 45.3 to 44.5. A lead well within the MOE of the polls of plus or minus 3 points. Then if one goes district by district, the democrats currently have 22 seats in the competitive column or at risk of switching to the GOP’s 18 seats at risk of switching. Senate wise, I would place 3 democratic seats up in 2026 in the at-risk column, Georgia, Michigan and Minnesota. Georgia is the one state most likely to switch to the GOP. The republicans have 2 seats, Maine and North Carolina in the at-risk category with Maine most likely to go democratic as Collins is retiring.
Lastly look at Trump’s overall job approval, currently there’s a plurality of Americans disapproving of his job performance. It’s very close 47.7% approve, 49.9% disapprove. Going by months. 1 Feb 49.4% approve/44.7% disapprove 1 Mar 48.7% approve/ 47.9% disapprove 1 Apr 47.7% approve/49.9% disapprove
You can see the slow downward trend.
It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Other than the continuing resolution, holding hearings about fantasy problems, and confirming appointees has the Congress passed any meaningful act?
Congress is basically meaningless at this point. MAGA will do what ever is necessary to keep a compliant majority.
Once the Supreme Court has ruled on a couple of key cases (Executive discretion on the budget, executive discretion on employment of even pseudo-federal positions, Executive discretion on trade, Executive discretion on enforcing any and all laws), the courts will be irrelevant.
Welcome to the new reality.

As of today, or as soon as the two republicans from Florida get sworn in, the republicans will have a 220-213 advantage in the house. There are two vacancies, Rep. Sylvester Turner (D-TX) died 3/5/2025 with no date set for a special election as yet to fill Turner’s seat. Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) died 3/13/2025, which the special election is scheduled for 23 Sep 2025. Both vacant seats are safe democratic districts.

I have been thinking about my continuing whining about the Democrats asking for more money. They do it constantly and every time they get a chance. Its a habit they have which, I think, turns a LOT of people off! The other thing is the way they are doing it. Its group by group and NOT the Democratic party at all. There is something very irritating about the entire thing. Who are these groups. I have something like 5 of them and they are on my night and day. I, pretty much believe, however, that they are not helping their cause. I know they may need money but am not really sure. it would be nice if the Democratic party, the one that holds most of the cards and are supposed to be in charge would actually let everybody know how much money they actually have why they need more.
I know, I am probably offending but I find it offending. Constant begging is not a really good way, I think, to do.
Oh, after this latest disaster for the Republcans, and Elon Musk there is actually talk, within the Republican party that he become a bit less observable. The guy is a real killer for the Republicans and they are starting to understand why. I wonder, what happens when Musk and Trump part ways. I wonder if Elon is delicate and might get angry. Now, for my thought. I wonder what would happen if he abandoned the Republicans and Went to the Democrats with, say, 200 million dollars to make a point. (sometimes it gives one pleasure to deal in damn fool)
Oh, if I offend anybody I apologize.......
Anyway...............
