What spine? Coelenterates do not have spines! Neither species of coelenterate inhabiting Congress possess a nerve cord, much less a vertebrate structure.
The original abdication of authority to declare war came at the behest of a president from Pelosi's own party - Harry Truman.
Since then, occupants of the White House - regardless of party - have felt free to take us into wars without seeking anything more from Congress than a blank check. And the Congress has, in turn, almost never failed to roll over and play dead for whatever splendid little war the WH has seen fit to get us in to.

I am concerned that the average democrat party voter is dismayed and will not even turn up at the polls to vote come election day.
We had some local elections yesterday and the majority of the winners were republicans. It makes me think that maybe democrats sat home instead of going out and voting.
I'm curious how many democrats think that since the democrat party seems to be abandoning the democratic voters, the democratic votes may abandon the democratic party, and not vote at all anymore.
Good doesn't always win!
