It is interesting to consider what exactly are "Reagan Principles"
One of the most striking things about Reagan was his public presentation savey. As an actor, he knew what to say and how to say it to achieve a desired effect among his audience.
To me, the fundamental Reagan principle is to say what ever is required to achieve the intended public perception. Reagan spoke at great length concerning shrinking government. Yet he was not notably effective in doing that. Just to take a point of comparison... Clinton and the Gingrich congress shrank/controlled welfare, whereas Reagan didn't even present a plan for this. Government spending did not shrink under Reagan, it exploded.
Of course politicians have a long history of deception an obfuscation. But I think Reagan brought true expertise--dare I say professionalism--- to the endeavor.
