I absolutely disagree. That is your opinion and I respect it, but it is only your opinion, no matter how many may agree with you.

Then what was Bi-Partisan Campaign Refom Act? With the passage of a law that violated the First Amendment a little bit of our freedom of speech was stolen.

One of my faves, beechhouse. It also makes a very important point about why "ownership" is necessary in the first place: scarcity. Remember in the film, the object that falls from the sky becomes a source of contention because it is so useful, and there is only one of it.

It also illustrates the direct connection between private property and theft. Since there is only one of it, and it is useful, others covet it as their own private property and steal it from their neighbor. Whether the utility of the scarce object outweighs the harm to society of theft is another question, but it is foolish to deny the direct connection between private property and theft.

Well I hear that, but I'm afraid there may be a little "false causation" going on there. Of course there can be no theft without private property, just as there can be no adultery without marriage.

Not to be picky, but of course there can be theft without private property. One can steal public property, oui?

Not if one does not have ownership of one's person. And what more fundamental right to ownership is there?
