I heartily approve of his ideas about moving forward to sustainability using all the intelligence and technology we can. This is diametrically opposed to some in the green movement who would have us out planting heirloom wheat using sharp sticks, or returning to hunting and gathering.
Agreed - but with all the RE people I've talked to, I don't hear ANYONE calling for that... and it's unnecessary. All we need is a fair playing field, which means we ought to implement a carbon tax through cap and trade free market actions, where the true costs of all energy processing is accounted for - as well as STOP the oil subsidies, perhaps give a quarter of what the oil industry has been given, for so many years, for ten to twenty years to RE and then that should stop too.
Seems a reasonable compromise to me.
