What if we sent him back to Mexico? I think that the locals might do the job for us. wink (Correction: I thought it was his parents that were the illegal immigrants, but it was his grandparents. But, according to the principles of the current administration, that tainted history should make him "no longer a citizen.)

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

I must be in a weird place today, but I am surprised by the level of hostility in this thread. Not that I cannot understand it but that all we have left to say apparently is anger.

Maybe as a world, we could all use some soul-searching that would lead to other responses.

Phil, I was so surprised when I got to your post.
I was just thinking the same thing!
Not that I'm not angry and disgusted myself but the dialogue (everywhere not just here) seems to have gotten a little, I don't know, base or something.

There are few topics (although it seems more lately) that will get me as riled up as discussion of how Alberto Gonzales, on behalf of the administration, has sorely tested the concept of a Constitutional government. His assertion that he follows either the Constitution or what is "right" is so far from the reality of his actions that I react angrily to it. We live in a time that has tested the durability of the Constitution more than any other since World War II, and that is thanks, in large measure, to policies which put party over the people and control over constitutional propriety. The rank hypocrisy is what gets my goat, and it spills over in my choice of language. I do honestly believe that his actions were treasonous, and I do not use that term lightly. Mike Molloy, of Air America fame, refers to it as the "Bush crime family." I don't that that description is far from the truth, even if that legitimizes the use of pretty strong condemnatory language. It doesn't help to say that "they" started it, even if that happens to be true.
