From what I have heard, the garments are blessed so they will remain in place in the event of the Rapture. So when all the saved rise up to heaven leaving their earthly clothing and posessions behind, only the Mormons will be modestly attired. Everybody else will be out hanging in the breeze!
No crazier than dunking people in water while reciting magical incantations, or keeping two different sets of cookware.
If I really cared about a candidate's religion, I would be in a tough position: Evey single one of them is a Christian (or at least claims to be). Why would the particular sect or cult make any difference to me? People of any faith (or no faith at all) can still be intelligent, compassionate, and honest. That's what really matters.
