A McCain/Giuliani ticket will never happen. The social conservatives and the religious right would have a fit of apoplexy if it's even hinted at.

Don't count on it. If a McCain/Giuliani ticket ever takes the White House, they'd have to rename the War Room the Rubber Room. McCain makes Hillary look normal. The only republican ticket balancing act is geographical, i.e, east and west of the Hudson. Giuliani is east and McCain is the rest of the country. About the only values the republicans (with the exception of Ron Paul) appear concerned with is endless war mongering, which is probably part of their economic platform as well.
Faux News and the neo-cons want Giuliani, but they realize that he's unelectable, so they pull a McCain out of their hat or someplace else. In the unlikely event that they get elected, Giuliani is next in line to the throne if the elderly McCain should pop a cork while in office.
