the royals are just celebs, frankly - went over there you all know damn well it would be covered. make it right? well, probably not. but then again, why don't we just stop writing about all the soldiers, and leave the war to the chickenhawks. oh, wait, that's what the bush administration has been trying to get us to all along.

It seems you are confusing two things here. Yes the royals are celebs of sort but the fact is that Harry nor anyone around him wanted the story covered. Harry didn't choose to be a celebrity, he doesn't call up the photogs in a Brittneysque style and ask them to come along. He trained to be a solider and he wanted to use that training. It is not his fault the world he was born into and IMO he could have at least been allowed this one thing.

I know this subject has been discussed many many times. I guess this story just hit me as such a unneccessary thing. There does seem to be a shift in journalistic ethics thankfully there are still some out there that strive to be good journalist on every level.

However we have changed into a nation in need of crap news. CNN carried a story on the anniversary of Anna Nicoles death!! Have you ever seen a story on the anniversary of Mother Theresa's death?

When JFK was in office the journalist were aware of his propensity for women, but they for the most part kept a lid on it. It wasn't news that was neccessary for the public to know. When Reagan was in the begining of his disease while still in office, the press allowed him the dignity to keep it under wraps.

It just seems that reporting this story which put a life in danger was over the line.
