May I suggest that the use of the word "sex" in discussions such as this is both misleading and unnecessarily charged. What we are really speaking of is gender, not sex. It may seem minor, but whenever the word "sex" appears it charges the discussion with topics that are not pertinent.

Unless, of course, we are talking about, for example, male soldiers having sex with female soldiers, or male on male, etc.

Minor point, but I suggest cleaning up the use of language often yields surprising results.
