I read this and I don't know if I should laugh hysterically at the absurdity of it or cry out in angry frustration. But then Ainsley Earhardt -- the anchor-ess -- tucks her hair behind her ears and replies, "I have! But, see, here at Fox we like to be feminine, so we don't wear the pants." Off in the distance, we hear a wolf whistle.
And then Earhardt coyly continues, "Would you like us to wear pants, Brian?" "No, no!" Brian exclaims. (She does have great legs, I admit.) "It's very hard to please Brian," a second female anchor jokes. And then Brian, who sounds like a great guy, announces, "If I were to run for office, I would run on a pro-skirt platform. I am firmly behind the skirts." Another male anchor adds, "You're firmly behind the skirts? Is that what you just said?"  Well thankfully we have Fox News to demonstrate for us how sexism is still alive and what better format to do it in then on a so called "NEWS" show!!!

I think faux better pay these women very well, or there's a lawsuit as soon as one of them gets a little older (actually, I'm presuming on the age bit; I have no idea what these women look like - just guessing.) They'll also have trouble the first time a "real journalist" who happens to be female is not hired (no matter what she looks like). I hope it's soon.

very few real journalists are hired by broadcast networks. they prefer lookers and ...

2wins, that's the point. If a real journalist applies, doesn't get hired...there has been at least one lawsuit like that before.

she got to have the legs for television. Yeah, I forgot...that's what got Dan Rather the job. And Linda Ellerbee too, although she was only on news "magazines," not a big-desk nightly news show.

"Real" journalist or not, an employer doesn't have to hire someone simply because one is good at their job.
Example, the employer can argue cost - the "experienced" journalist would cost too much to payroll - there's plenty of loopholes to use to get around this issue.
Most states are "right-to-work" states and an employer can hire and fire for any reason what-so-ever, "cutting back" is often a cited reason.

And Linda Ellerbee too, although she was only on news "magazines," not a big-desk nightly news show. maybe you miss my point. although there are some smart journalists on television, networks want looks. to be fair, men seem to have this rugged, chiseled thing going. even chris matthews seems to have undergone some sort of cosmetic change. it's about image. fox wants these women to project an image. they are appealing to a specific market - you can extrapolate from that - and therefore pay these women big bucks to project that image.
