and the clues continue to unfold.

i hold the belief that the govt. and the fed (one in the same now?) will maintain tight lipped as long as possible, giving in little by little as the evidence mounts against their eternal optimism. and don't get me wrong, optimism is fine, but we are all adults, aren't we?

The government lying to us should come as no surprise, at least with the Bush Administration, the truth has always been the opposite stated from them.

Given this, I too believe, as you do 2wins, that news information from other countries are much more reliable than our own.

I saw that myself when I traveled around the world from 09-26-01 to 10-26-01 - the news presented was quite different than what was being presented in America.

on the one hand i think they want to prevent a panick. on the hand, i think they are misguided and will only complicate an already complicated situation.

Seems to me the Bernake statement is softening us up for some much worse news.

Am I the only person that their pay increases has not kept up with inflation? Maybe if employers would pay employees annual increases of at least the amount of what the cost-of-living is, we could escape a recession!

I got 3% this year, and 3% last year, and 3% the year before, and 3%...

3% is pretty standard from my employer. Many co-workers are complaining that their health insurance premiums have gone up more than 3% and they are with Kaiser. I am with a PPO and I have an FSA account which lowers my tax liability.

3 percent last year and the year before. Five percent this year. Three percent was the average, two was for good behavior, and appreciation, I suppose.

We're onto you, Bush Administration!
