To all:
I, MA_Republiucan hereby renounce my membership in the GOP and will become a full fledged, card carrying memebr of the Democratic Party...

To many on this board, that statement would not be believed, to some it would be believed. Hell, it must be true, I wrote it for the world to see. This particular thread is about Obama, but that is because this board is populated by died in the wool liberal leaning Americans who will do anything to defeat the mean, nasty GOP, even if it means elected somebody who is not qualified to be President.

I know, its just Tim blowing off steam about a Dem again, well it isn't and it is. Barack H. Obama has two years in the Senate to draw upon for internal guidance as President, and that may be his best qualification. I am a firm believer that anybody should be able to become President and that there is no requirement for a BA, BS, MBA, PHD, etc. But I digress, lets get back to my conversion.

... I promise to advocate a 50% tax rate on ALL Americans making over $250,000. I promise to support grave robbing by the government. I promise to support hate crimes for everybody except white American males. I promise to use race as a hammer every time I have a chance...

It seems that Mr. Barack H. Obama wants everybody in America to forget the H part of his name. It seems he is ashamed of that H name and would prefer it not be used in public. My father, god rest his soul, told me that a man who is ashamed of his name is a man to be wary of. A name is a title given to a person as an act of love and hope. It is a tag that should follow him gracefully throughout his life. It should never be a word discarded when it becomes easier to live without it.

... I promise I will study Mao's little Red book, I will reread the Communist Manifesto and I will follow the lead of our glorious past President Carter and support every quasi-communist dictator in the world at the expense of US policy and common sense. I swear that my lifes goal is to right the wrongs of the oppressed and reinstitute affirmative action in America, as a matter of fact I will support a Constitutional amendment to dictate that an American minority MUST be President every third term...

The reason for this rant is to highlight the blind acceptance in some quarters regarding Barack H Obama's insistance that he is not a Muslim, not only the denial, but his willingness to dismiss his the time he was, without a doubt, being taught to be a Muslim. I want to highlight that the reason he chose the Trinity Church was because it was a radical black church. I want to highlight the fact that Barack H Obama chose carefully his path to the Senate by way of his associations with that association.

... I promise that I will never question, use deductive resoning, or in any way doubt a Democratic candidate at any level for the Democratic Party embodies all that is good and fair in the universe. I also promise to label anybody who disagrees with me a neo-Con. I will refuse the say the Pledge, I will refuse to honor our vererans and I will always remind the world that Iraq is a quagmire of Veit Nam proportion...

I don't really know if Barack H Obama is a Muslim. He says he isn't and for the last 20 years he has ascribed to a version of Christianity that is more radical that the Muslims who want to bomb America. I really don't know Mechelle Obama, except that I am pretty sure she is a little bitter and probably a bit of a racist. What I do know is that I don't know, and after the perpetual primary campaign that just took place I do know I should know.

...I know you are all asking why I would change my party affiliation at this moment in history. The reason is simple, I GIVE UP. I was mislead by the tennents of self reliance and personal responsibility in the GOP platform, who needs that when the Goivernment will take care of me for the rest of my life? I am dismayed that the Republican President is a moron (true). I am so disappointed that the Republicans are the only politicians that lie that I feel I must change parties. After all, I live in the blueist of blue states. My senior senator got away with killing a girl he was having an afair with, my junior Senator held talks with the enemey during a time of war, and one member of my state's House delegation allowed a male prostitution ring to be run out of his appartment. That is enlightenment. Oh, one other deciding factor, my new party has stepped up and supported a member of their party who got caught taking bribes and had $100,000 in his freezer. That is the kind of leadership I respect and desire...

Please accept my application intothe Democratic Party. I promise I will become lemming like and ignore anything that make me think for myself.

cute. and the funny thing is, MA, I would see anyone who blindly follows the GOP as a lemming, seriously lacking the ability of discernment and self-actualization. and to think, im not even a democrat.

I may be an ex-Republican, but I am not blind. This little confession is more of a question than a statement. As I just wrote, I have had an epiphany and I am changing parties. It will be a struggle, but I will subjugate my intelligence to follow the party line, and I will not ask those pesky questions that start with, or end with, why, how or prove it.

I am not blinded by John McCain, he isn't much of a Republican, truth be told, so voting for Obama should be easy for me. But I am fascinated by Obama and his asscension to the heights he has risen to. I have a hard time not asking the obvious questions, and I know that if I do I will be labeled as a:
A) Racist
B) Partisan Republican
C) neo-Con
D) All of the above

The only way to avoid those accusations is to become a member of the party, and accept the mindlessness that has become a mandatory membership requirement over the past few months. Hell, I don't know anything about Barack H Obama, and if I ask I am told to read his book (a virtual death sentence), which makes me ask why I would believe his book, since he wrote it?

I am not, and I will not at this time, accuse Barack H Obama of being a Muslim, or a racist, or a proponant of Black Theology, I don't know enough about him, but neither do the people who are waxing poetically about him.

I am now a Democrat, and as one I cannot question the choice of Barack H Obama as candidate for President, even if I have concerns about how, where and why he is running. Even if I have concerns about his electability. Even if I just can't believe what he is trying to tell me. I BELIEVE! Barack H Obama id the second coming of JFK, a womenizer who committed the US to support of South Viet Nam and who developed an extreme case of cold feet in a place called the Bay of Pigs.

It isn't a Republican/Democrat thing. It is WTF thing. I know that John McCain is going to be questioned about his POW days, his involvement with the Keating Five, his partnership with the liberal lion of Massachusetts on illegal aliens, I mean poor undocumented immigrants, his divorce, his children, his religion, his automobile and his bank account. He should be question about all of that plus anything else that begs a question. Will Obama be questioned in the same way? With the same intensity? Or, with anybody who does ask those questions be branded:

A) Racist
B) Partisan Republican
C) neo-Con
D) All of the above

My new hero, Barack H Obama has already served notice that anybody who even dares ask a hard question will get hammered. He has already shown the world that, while nobody has attcked him with his race, he will fabricate the offence if necessary.

I am now a Dem, but the conversion will take a while to become fully Borg-like, so I ask my fellow Dems here and around the world to help me. Pick me up when I fall back on independant thought and slap me when I ask those insensitive questions, like Is Mrs. Barack H Obama still proud to be an American?

Sincerely, MA_Democrat

Why be a partisan. If you were serious about your discontent, perhaps you would be coming at this as an independent, weighing out the pros and cons. However, what I read here is sarcasm and insincerity. It's difficult to take you seriously. If you're serious here, then perhaps you can dispense with the rhetoric and get down to brass tacks. Are your or are you not interested in voting for Obama? Why or why not? Are you or are you not a partisan? Why or why not? From where I sit, you are a partisan and that's fine if you're comfortable with that. However, please don't insult the average intellegence of this board with insincere rhetoric.

Ma_R, it would also help if you took out of your diatribe all the things you claim to not know yet keep repeating. For one thing, what evidence do you have that Obama is "ashamed" of his middle name? How many Presidents have always used their middle name?

Another thing is who here on the Rant has "blindly" endorsed Obama or refused to question him?

Seems to me you are having a conversation with yourself.

I don't remember hearing repetitions of "Ronald Wilson Reagan"
and I don't think I've EVER heard "George Walker Bush".

I HAVE heard the singsong-y "Barrack HUSSEIN Obama" intoned as a claxon by Fixed News often enough to realize that Obama might be soft pedaling that middle moniker purely as a reflex at this point.

Another reflex I find interesting, the continual comparison of Barack to JFK. This is every bit as ridiculous as the reverent comparisons to Reagan of a certain candidate who shall remain nameless.

All this silly breastbeating...if JFK got us into a quagmire or two then so be it. If Reagan squirreled away at a nap while his Veep got us entangled in Iran Contra, so be it...that guy was pretty much running the country anyway at that point.

But Reagan should also be remembered as the man who ended the tyranny of the Cold War by helping to bring the old USSR to its knees, and Kennedy should also be remembered as the leader who got us into the space race, and if Obama can manage to pull off something equally good on either end of the spectrum he will have forever put to rest the inane questions as to his qualifications and the endless comparisons to dead men who were both good and bad, and remarkably human.
Perhaps we can try to view both Obama and McCain as humans first, and icons second.

Of course it might help if the MSM views US as humans too.
Fat chance of that happening...we're COMMODITIES, and expendable ones at that!

Sarcasm? Insincerity?

I'm crushed, and this coming from a fellow liberal!

Me, insult the average intellegence of the people on this board? Come on, who could believe that I would ever underestimate the intellegence of the members here?

Embrace me! I am a re-born LIBERAL.

Barrack HUSSEIN Obama, kind of SINGS doesn't it? Makes my heart go pitter patter! I know that using the H-word, being a newly minted liberal I am not allowed to use the full Hussein version, is a no-no. I remember when I was a Republican, bring up the fact that Spiro T Agnew was Gov. S. Ted Agnew, and my past brothers were making a big deal about it, but that was then, this is now I guess.

It is funny, but the JFK comparison was meant as a compliment. He give good speech, strikes good pose, has no experience. Just like our party savior, John Kennedy. Who know what could have been accomplished had be lived past the first half of his first term? Imagine the tax cuts he could have implemented, oops a good Dem doesn't mention the tax cuts that JFK advocated and implemented.

When I was a Republican, I was concerned about the lack of information available about our new savior, if I may I will crown him the neo-savior. I used to be concerned about some of his contributors and advisors were, however now ignorance is bliss. I was troubled about his domestic tax policies, but as a Dem I don't mind giving 4 out of every 10 dollars to the government to support the illegal, oops undocumented, aliens and their families as they break our laws and take our jobs, jobs that no American would stoop low enough to work.

My Republican reflexes still have to be quelled every once in a while though. I lived through Reagan, and Obama isn't Reagan ( there I said it, forgive me), and I have to admit a certain reluctance to belkieve that he never heard his crazy uncle, the good Reverend Wright, give those truthful and insiteful speeches in which he proclaimed to the world, God Damn America (forgive me, I know not what I speek). As a new Democrat, I respect the Marxists he has associations with and the radical religion he practiced for 20 years, after all as a Dem I know that America is always wrong, even when She is right.

Oh well, al that is behind me now. I am now a true believer in Marx, Lennon and Carter. I used to think Clinton sucked, now I know he is a traitor to his party.

Please accept me into your party, I promise I will do anything you tell me to do. I need your empowermental powers for my future success as a liberal lion in Massachusetts.

Diatribe? Oh Phil, here I am pouring my inner most political secrets out to the members of CHB, and I am accused of commiting diatribe? It isn't a diatribe if the diatriber (diatribee) is a Dem, it becomes a reasoned argument in that case and since I am now a Dem, I must be commiting a reason argument (also against the rules for somebody as new to the party as I am.)

Once somebody becomes a President, middle initials are all they need. John F. Kennedy, Richard M. Nixon, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, William Jefferson Clinton is the exception (kind of like John Wilkes Booth)But, then again a good Dem, and I am one, does not remind America about the H-word.

Let me put myself in the shoes of a Republican, a streatch since I have adopted the Dems as my mentors.

Question: Why hasn't Obama told us what his policies will be if elected?

Question: Why did Obama make those preemptatory accusations of racial abuse last week?

Question: What's up with the church thing? I know religioon is a kind of private thing, but the whole white hating thing is soooo 1960ish.

Question: What qualifies Obama to be President, two years in the Senate?

For the record, if I were still a Republican that is, Mr. Obama, why should we believe anything you say? What was that, read your audacity book. Oh, didn't you write that? Oh, I see, it must be honest because it was published? I see what you mean, I also believed the DeVincci Code.

I sympathise with the many people on this board who wants to change America, we probably agree much more than we disagree, but if I were still a Republican I would have to ask if BHO is really the answer we are looking for. I would do the research and decide if I really wanted to vote for this guy, a guy who may be more flawed han the last potential Dem President.

But then, I am now a Dem and I beg your forgiveness for my years of greed and ignorance. I look forward to the days, and being a Dem is a sure path to riches beyond my talents (see Babs, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi et al). Once I am rich, giving that 40% will be just a bump, instead of a burden. I will feel that feeding my family, at the expense of feeding somebody elses family, is the wrong type of thought and that making excuses for thise less fortunate is the sure path to the totally non-denominational afterlife where the roads are made of recycled plastic bottles and global warming is just a story to scare the ignorant masses below my caste.

I beg entry into your party and hope you will forgive my past as a pagan Republican.
