I grew up on George Carlin and he never stopped being funny. He passed away before receiving the Mark Twain award. I don't know of any comedian who deserved it more. No matter the year/era George Carlin was always relevant and damn funny. The world just won't be as funny without him.

Been a long time since I've posted here on ReaderRant, and this topic may be a lil late, as Mr. Carlin died on Sunday night. But I just heard about it now while watching the show about him on Bio channel, and it said "Remembering George Carlin". Hit me like a ton of bricks. I may be young but I remember listening to him when I was 8 years old, my next oldest brother, 16 at the time had an album of his on vinyl! Was funny as hell, although I really didn't get all of the jokes, but most of them. I'm severely saddened by the loss of this comic genius, but with 15+ albums, 10+ HBO specials etc his cynicism, wit and observational greatness will last the length of stored media. I wish the best to his family. Loved and will continue to love the man, personally he showed me the lighter side of serious issues and helped me to always remember to question everything anyone tries to "tell" me.
Addition : I mean, come on, how many comedians have a Supreme Court case with their name on it?

Better late than never, I guess. My thought on George Carlin is pretty simply. I have seen him several times. I saw him once do an entire show with his fly open. The next night he was wearing pants with no fly. This has absolutely nothing to do with anything but I do think it was interesting then and remains so. (and gave me some unintended, I suspect, humor).
I was going to mention it to him but my wife thought that might not be a good idea so, for once, I kept my mouth shut.
