RB, it is my experience that the people who REALLY believe in being armed and feel safer that way, haven't given it up.
Those of us who don't feel safer with a gun CHOOSE not to be armed.
I don't feel like I've given up any right.
I live in the southern US. We wrote the book on having guns, hunting, killing, you name it. I grew up around guns. In the fall it sounds like a war zone.
Folks fight for their gun rights with a vengeance around here and have mostly won everything they want so I don't understand your bitterness/anger concerning this issue.
You just stated you have lots of guns.
What is the problem?
I was married to a man who had guns all over our house. You couldn't open a cabinet without a gun falling out of a bowl. He had our daughter out in the woods every Saturday target practicing (not what I think of as a wholesome optimistic outlook on life learning exactly).
I don't want to live that way anymore, RB.
But that's just me.
I also think it's a dangerous way to live.
That said, I"m not interested in taking your guns away from you, RB. This country is too ensconced in guns. It ain't gonna happen.
Besides....you might shoot me!!
