It is sad, it is rare, it is unfortunate, but is it newsworthy? I don't see it as a topic of levity or gloming on tangential prejudices to make a point. It just happened. And nothing anyone on the bus did would have made a difference to the victim, or likely change the possibility for any future victims of similar attacks. I suspect we will find that the attacker suffers from untreated schizophrenia, but that won't change the reality of the families involved who have lost a loved one senselessly.
