I worded my first comment poorly. Of course Newman was a movie star - but he was a movie star because he was an actor.
There are lots of "actors" in this country, but very few Actors. Newman was one; Dustin Hoffman another. Probably Meryl Streep. A few others.
I still say that the end of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is one of the sexiest scenes ever filmed - and both actors are dressed (well, covered) and the language is clean.
Time to rent "Mr. and Mrs. Bridge" and honor two grand actors in an epic marriage. And the movie ain't bad either.
