Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens was convicted of corruption charges Monday in a trial that tainted the 40-year Senate career of Alaska's political patriarch.
Stevens, 84, was convicted of all seven charges he faced of lying about free home renovations and other gifts he received from a wealthy oil contractor. Jurors began deliberating Wednesday at noon. Another one bites the dustHmmmm... I heard on Olbermann a few days ago something about Governor Palin apparently getting her own house built for free by the same folks that built Wasilla's skating rink. So I wonder if there will be a cell reserved for Sarah right next door to Stevens' cell. Birds of a feather and all that.
