On The People's Court, Wapner mediated a binding arbitration which was set up to resemble a small claims court by pitting parties, without lawyers, against each other. The legacy of the show's high popularity has led to myriad other similar syndicated shows such as Judge Alex, Cristina's Court, Judge Maria Lopez, Judge Mills Lane, Judge Mathis, Judge Joe Brown, Judge Hatchett, Judge David Young, Moral Court, Texas Justice and Judge Judy. wiki

Olyve, Bama plays Mississippi State. We are supposed to win by three touchdowns. Those are the games that can turn ugly fast.

Now I'll be pulling for Georgia tomorrow and South Carolina. I'd like to see Georgia have the win over Auburn they are supposed to have and have South Carolina pull the upset on Florida. This is called cutting off my nose. The match-up between Alabama and Florida will be much bigger if both teams go into the SEC Championship unbeaten.

I didn't know until I got to bridge tonight that the trip we made to the border received coverage in the Huntsville Times. Here is the link. Martin Sheen answered a blind e-mail to do a voice-over of the documentary that my friend is making.

P.S. Great opening Olyve. I've driven that terrible road up to Pike's Peak before. I believe the kids that work up there have dorm rooms and don't come down daily.

Great pictures!

May I add my "Have a good day ya'll?"

Hi all - we are having big - but infrequent - snowflakes this morning - oops, smaller and a few more now. I doubt it will turn into anything but when I run out for Saturday errands I believe I'll pick up some soup ingredients along with the library books and the dish soap.

I find that with the election over I am not as energetic about debating...what a friend of mine used to call "a serious case of the f**k-its." I'm sure I'll outgrow it soon enough!

Thanks for breakfast, Olyve!

COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT!

Quote
“The greatest contribution of atheism is the provision of a firm basis for ethical conduct. Atheism explains that morality is a social obligation but not a passport to heaven and salvation. The theistic belief in divine retribution sidetracked moral behavior. Believers were more prone to please the god of their imagination by prayer and ritual than to conform to rules of moral conduct. Consequently immorality and anti-social activities spread wild wherever people were absorbed in the worship of god and in the propitiation of fate. Atheism brings about radical changes in the outlook of people in this context. Truth, tolerance, love and equality are the basic needs of social harmony.”
-- Gora, Note on Atheism

FROM THE CHURCH OF INEFFABLE STUPIDITY:

a) Blackwater
the company smuggled illegal guns into Iraq for sale to terrorists. One of the techniques was to hide the guns in huge doog food bags, which were then shrinkwrapped for transport to Iraq. (The Military has large numbers of trained dogs for bomb-sniffing, finding corpses and injured in rubble, etc.
- - -

b) George Bush
He rewrote numerous laws this week, regarding abortion, water pollution, off shore drilling, strip mining, mountain top mining, deforestation, drug testing and review, food inspections,
But his latest statement to Liberia's president really takes the cake:
Quote
"Yesterday, you made note of my — the lack of my talent when it came to dancing. But nevertheless, I want you to know I danced with joy. And no question Liberia has gone through very difficult times."

c) Border patrol expanding geographic areas to search for and arrest medical marijuana users.

Quote
The top federal prosecutor in Seattle has overruled the Border Patrol, whose officers filed petty marijuana charges against five people stopped at roadblocks in Washington.

The roadblocks -- set up dozens of miles from the border -- are meant to detect terrorists, undocumented immigrants and drug traffickers. But they also have snared people such as Stephen Dixon, 55, a disabled veteran who uses medical marijuana with a doctor's approval to fight unrelenting pain. Border Patrol officers cited him for misdemeanor marijuana possession earlier this year.

d) George Bush, medical murderer, thug, and scalliwag

He repeatedly put religion ahead of science, at NASA, with Abstinence Policies, and with Stem Cells. Despite promoting willful ignorance for all America, others continue to speed ahead of America.

Quote
Doctors in Berlin are reporting that they cured a man of AIDS by giving him transplanted blood stem cells from a person naturally resistant to the virus.

The problems with the treatment: it is incredibly dangerous, terribly expensive, and generally not available to the public at large.
