Martha and I just got back from eating lunch out and our Friday movie day. We saw "The Changling." That movie is based on a true story. Just this week, "USA Today" had a 3/4 page commentary on the movie so I essentially knew the plot before seeing the movie.

The theatre was freezing. I haven't been that cold in a movie theatre since I watched one in Fairbanks, Alaska.

After the movie ended, Martha and I discussed whether the movie is "Oscar" worthy and if any of the actors are "Oscar" worthy. Our friend Barry said that during a depression "sad" movies often win awards.

I had to twist Martha's arm before she would agree to let me repeat the best story from today. I love a good story.

Martha, Barry, and I went to McAlister's Sandwich Shop before attending the movie. It is still quite cold down here.

One of the many things that non-wheelchair people might not think about is that it is hard to bundle up in cold weather. My friends who travel on wheels usually put their coats on backwards which leaves a portion of their neck, back, and shoulders exposed to the cold.

As Barry was locking up the car, Martha and I scooted across the parking lot. McAllister's has alfresco dining when weather permits. Someone had left the iron chairs askew. Martha rammed one. It was in her way. She continued on with the iron lawn chair attached to the front wheel of her chair fully intending, I am quite certain, to ram the front door of the restaurant with the chair. I'm still laughing.

Don't think it was (for some reason I think Don't Renege On Our Love may have been) but great selection.

Side Note: If any of you folks don't know this album you should look into it - uniformly excellent!

Hmmmm. Verizon has multiple employees who access, and spread to others, the cell phone records of president elect Obama.

Verizon caved into the NSA, CIA, and Dick Cheney, and authorized hundreds of thousands of illegal, warrant-less wiretaps.

Verizon is embarrassed by one of the above.

Apparently a person has been fired. Verizon now claims that the issue(s) is closed and will no longer comment on it.

COMMENT ON IT? First, they said, No Comment, because they were "investigating". Now, they've "investigated", so they can no longer comment on the issue.

That's almost . . . . Orwellian, Rovian, Bushian, Cheney'n, Stalinist, Hitlerian, Maoist, . . . pick your own poison.

Scout, that's the reason I love Martha so much. She's a fighter. I recognize that in others. I am too!

...so two of my San Francisco friends (...my Wingman and his first ex - Wingman has been 'married' more times than Liz Taylor! laugh )came out today to place my furniture, pictures, decor, etc. Wingman's ex is actually an architect and he taught architecture at the University of Pennsylvania.

Anywhoo...

Check out what they did to my bedroom:

They put the bed in the middle of the room with the back of the dresser as the headboard.

How cool is that? Gays are such fab-u-lous decorators!!! Bow
