Following in the vein of Obesity. Food production has become so chemically dependent, that the chemicals are being consumed along with the food. We are feeding ourselves and our children the same chemicals that cause rapid growth and the early fattening of livestock, growth hormones that allow them to be slaughtered sooner to save money on feed and time. We are feeding them and eating huge amounts of soy protein which is an estrogen mimicking chemical, additives and preservatives and fillers abound in all prepared foods. Read the label on any frozen dinner, if you can pronounce the words. Systemic chemicals are used on food crops and genetically engineered crops are questionable at best and it remains to be seen if these are sustainable at all. Even our water supplies are laced with chemicals, deemed safe at least for short term consumption.
We have enjoyed better living through chemistry but how long can it continue?
