Does anybody believe that the Candian Geese were actually Al-Qaeda trained?

Does anybody believe this near-tragedy is an appropriate venue for political axe grinding?

Does anybody believe this near-tragedy is an appropriate venue for political axe grinding? Were you born without a sense of humor, or did you disgard it in favor of hope and change?

I was born with a highly developed sense of humor but was subsequently taught to temper it with taste.

Does anybody believe that the Candian Geese were actually Al-Qaeda trained? Just as a point of clarification, it's CANADA Geese (not Canadian). Although some of the geese in the United States may have migrated down from Canada for the winter, most of the ones found here are actually native-born citizens, and year-round residents of the U.S.A. Therefore, Ma...rather than a foreign conspiracy, we're probably dealing with home-grown avian terrorists!

I was born with a highly developed sense of humor but was subsequently taught to temper it with taste. Taste is overrated and boring. Nobody was seriously injured. This is an event to celebrate. Celebrate good times, Come ON!!!! My keyboard doesn't hit that low octive. Lighten up! Here I am watching your hero take office, and its you who have no sense of humor.

Interesting article about unintended consequences of improving the environment: Talk about unintended consequences. “Bird strikes” — or collisions between birds and aircraft — are increasing for two reasons, according to the federal government’s leading expert on the phenomenon: The environment is cleaner and airplanes are quieter. <snip> "The key thing is that we’ve seen a remarkable increase in populations of many or most large birds — birds such as great blue heron, osprey, bald eagle, snow goose, Canada goose,” said Dolbeer, a retired ornithologist with the Department of Agriculture at the Wildlife Services in Sandusky, Ohio. "These populations are increasing because we’ve done a really good job of wildlife conservation in North America for many species, because we’ve cleaned up the environment, gotten rid of DDT, enacted the the Clean Water Act. All good things, but because of these, we’ve had incredible surges of many species that are hazardous to aviation. Bird Strikes Becoming a More Serious Threat - MSNBC

Bird Strikes Becoming a More Serious Threat - MSNBCWhen I was kid growing up, I spent a lot of time prowling the woods. I had never seen a Hawk in flight, I had never seen a swan in the wild, I once saw a fox. I left MA for about 5 years and when I came back one of the first things I saw was a swan landing in the pond behind my brother's house. Every morning I see hawks hunting. I see cardnals flying about in the summer, something that was unthinkable just a few years ago. Maybe we should be banning jet planes? The liberal lion of Massachusetts, Teddy Kennedy, is all upset about a proposed wind farm off the coast of Nantucket, one of his resons for opposing it is the danger it poses to the birds. He says that being able to see it off the coast has nothing to do with his position, so maybe we should ban prop planes also? Ah well, even the birds are conspiring against us now.
