If you can't read this because its a Bypass Paywalls Clean thing (pay to read more) get an addon for "Bypass Paywalls Clean" to solve that problem.

New York City will hospitalize more mentally ill people involuntarily, in a push to remove them from streets and subways, Mayor Eric Adams said.

FINALLY! Somebody has decided to actually do something about the mentally ill. For many years the solution was to do absolutely nothing for the mentally ill until they broke the law and then they were thrown in a little room, fed once a day, no window, nothing. Just a little room and fed once a day until they suicide. Since this is the way most of the mentally ill are handled, due to the state legislatures reducing support of the mentally ill ,this is a genuine effort . I wonder what the state legislatures, that have been reducing funding of those with mental problems are going to do. I also wonder what might happen if they actually go back to supporting their higher education instead of putting that cost on the backs of an entire generation of 19 year old high school graduates.

Pretty interesting.............
